Google doubles down on ‘AI phones’ with its Pixel 10 series

Google’s Pixel 10 series is pushing AI to the forefront, beating Apple to market with AI-focused smartphones ahead of the iPhone 17. The devices expand on Pixel 9’s AI features, like Gemini Live and image-generation tools, which now enable conversations five times longer than text-based chats.

Pixel 10 introduces Visual Overlays, Magic Cue, Camera Coach, Voice Translate, Take a Message, and Pixel Journal, all powered by the Tensor G5 processor running Gemini Nano.

Visual Overlays provides camera-based guidance, Magic Cue offers real-time suggestions across apps, and Camera Coach helps improve photography skills. Auto Best Take identifies the ideal shot, while Ask Photos allows AI-powered edits.

Voice Translate offers real-time multilingual translation, and Take a Message transcribes missed calls and suggests follow-ups. Pixel Journal uses AI to track goals, prompt reflections, and provide insights.

Additional updates include Gboard writing tools, Pixel Studio screenshot improvements, and Notebook LM integration with Recorder and screenshots.
