Google’s AI Mode expands globally, adds new agentic features

On Thursday, Google revealed that it’s expanding AI Mode worldwide, bringing the feature to 180 more countries in English. Previously, AI Mode had been limited to the U.S., U.K., and India. The company also plans to extend it to new languages and regions.
AI Mode enables users to ask layered questions directly in Search. As part of the update, Google is adding “agentic” features such as restaurant booking, with plans to cover local services and event tickets in the near future.
Users can input preferences like group size, cuisine, location, date, and time. AI Mode scans multiple booking platforms and generates a curated list of available restaurants.
These upgrades are first rolling out in the U.S. to Google AI Ultra subscribers as part of an experiment in Labs. Ultra costs $249.99 monthly.
The tool is also gaining personalization, showing dining suggestions based on past searches and clicks, and a sharing feature to collaborate with friends on plans.
