Here are Apple’s top AI announcements from WWDC 2025

Apple’s 2023 WWDC keynote placed a strong emphasis on artificial intelligence. In 2024, the company dialed back that focus, shifting attention toward updates to its operating systems, services, and software. The event also marked the debut of a sleek “Liquid Glass” design aesthetic and a refreshed naming convention.

Nevertheless, Apple maintained an AI presence in its announcements, introducing a new image recognition tool, an AI-powered workout companion, and real-time translation features.

Visual Intelligence
Visual Intelligence is Apple’s AI-driven system for analyzing images and providing information about objects, locations, and even clothing. The latest update enables the tool to interact directly with on-screen content. For example, when viewing a social media post, users can trigger an image search using platforms like Google Search or ChatGPT. This feature can be accessed through the Control Center or a customized Action button, and it will arrive with iOS 26 later this year.

Workout Buddy
Workout Buddy uses AI with text-to-speech capabilities to simulate a personal trainer’s voice, offering real-time motivation and performance highlights, such as fastest mile times and average heart rate readings.

Live Translation
Supported by Apple Intelligence, Live Translation offers instantaneous translation of spoken and written communication within Messages, FaceTime, and phone calls, helping users communicate seamlessly across languages.
